Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is from a multi-cultural family. Her birthplace was in South London. Her mother is English and her father Nigerian. She was raised in the southern part of London Council Estate, and then was a student at The Brit School aged 14. She earned her BA in acting from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She performed in various performances on stage during her time at school, including King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe began her acting career with the film Storm Damage. Since then, she has made guest appearances on Teachers, Doctors, Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film role was Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. In the wake of that film's success she was cast as Elisha in the one-off BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN which aired in 2007 and she also appeared in the six episodes of Trexx and Flipside as Ollie. In 2008, Madekwe landed Bambi, the lead role in ITV2's comedy Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe starred as the lead character for How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others, a comedy made in 2008. Some of her theatre credits include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe had her official US debut in the 2009 drama series The Beautiful Life, which just aired two episodes in the US on The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport, a character in ABC's Revenge drama series was cast as Ashley Davenport. Madekwe had appeared in all episodes of the show's first two seasons as the show's regular. In May 2013, the announcement was made that she would leave the show after her guest appearance in the first episode of the series' third season. On the show Salem the actress played Tituba between 2014 and the year 2016. Madekwe got married to her long-time love, Iddo. They collaborated in the film Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He was also a part of the cast with Madekwe in Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into the extended family of a huge, large. Her family included the parents Roy and Patty as well as four of their older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley was raised in the arenas and baseball parks since her brothers, who were all athletic, were hockey players, baseball players, and basketball in spring and summer. Ashley was never able to walk. She danced. At 2 and a 1/2, she joined Baby Ballet. Ashley fell in love with dance at this age. Ashley continued to perform competitively throughout high school with top divisions like tap, Jazz, Ballet and Pointe. She also competed in Acrobatics, Acrobatics Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Hip Hop and many more. The major dance festivals, like International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance which have awarded her the distinction of "top soloist".
